Guidelines for authors
As a matter of principle, manuscripts should be sent as email attachments either as .doc, .docx or .pdf files to the email address of the Journal’s Editorial Office, i.e. to firstname.lastname@example.org. We do not accept hardcopies. Citation guidelines can be downloaded here (pdf).
Maximum length of manuscripts is 30 standard manuscript pages; tables, illustrations and references included. A standard manuscript page of the ZfF/JFR contains 26 lines with 60 characters on each line, left margin is 3.5 centimetres, lines must be double-spaced. Default separations should be avoided.
Each manuscript should be accompanied by a separate title page, containing the title, abstracts and key words in both the English and German languages, as well as complete contact information and affiliation of the author(s). The maximum length for abstracts is 15 lines. German translations may be provided by the editorial office to those authors who have no knowledge of German.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) – inclusion in references
In collaboration with Crossref, one of the largest DOI registration agencies, our publisher shall provide Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) for the contributions in our Journal. The Editorial Office shall provide the authors with instructions on the technical prerequisites for both issuing the individual DOI for the contribution and for the mandatory inclusion of all available DOIs in the paper’s references.
The Journal applies the principle of double-blind peer review and requires the authors to follow the “revise and resubmit” rule.
All manuscripts accepted for peer review will be sent anonymously to at least two reviewers. Based on the outcomes of the reviewing procedure which, in turn, follows the “revise and resubmit” rule, a decision on publishing the manuscript will be made by the Editors.
